Snowstorm!
In honour of our good old Canadian blizzard today, Room 11 (Grade 1/2/3) decided to create an impromtu snowstorm of their own! First we watched a couple of videos on YouTube of real blizzards and heavy snow and then discussed how they looked and sounded. Then the kids got to work brainstorming! They used glockenspiels for the gently falling snow, and then added shakers, a rainstick, fingernails on drums, an ocean drums and "shhhhh" sounds to create the storm. The "snowflakes" (white scarves dancing in front of black lights) increased as the storm got heavier. Click here to view full screen on YouTube or watch below!
