Kinders and Grade 1/2/3 Students Perform on their Aboriginal Flutes

Today our Grade 1/2/3's performed a flute song they have been working on. They did a fantastic job!

The kindergarten students also shared the Legend of the Aboriginal Flute:

Grade 1/2/3 Flute Composers!

Today our grade 1/2/3 students have started to compose their own flute music!
We are using "Earth Song" as our poem/rhythm and adding our own melodies:

Earth Song

The Flute Project

Students at Buchanan School have been hard at work all year building, designing, decorating and learning to play their own Aboriginal Flute! Many exciting things have been happening through this project, including our Grade 4/5 performance at the Legislative Building on April 22nd!

A documentary of our entire project is on its' way, but here's a little teaser trailer to give you an idea of what's to come!

Grade 1/2/3's have embarked on a journey around the world! Third stop...Japan! We created our own actions, learned a new note (RE!), and played the melody on the barred instruments. Take a look!
