Today our grade 1/2/3 students have started to compose their own flute music!
We are using "Earth Song" as our poem/rhythm and adding our own melodies:
Students at Buchanan School have been hard at work all year building, designing, decorating and learning to play their own Aboriginal Flute! Many exciting things have been happening through this project, including our Grade 4/5 performance at the Legislative Building on April 22nd!
A documentary of our entire project is on its' way, but here's a little teaser trailer to give you an idea of what's to come!
Also, check out our performance on the grand staircase at the Legislative Building!
Kindergartens and Grade 1/2/3's have just started to learn to play too!
Want to see all of our flutes? Check out this video, accompanied by my own composition for the flutes we made!
Grade 1/2/3's have embarked on a journey around the world! Third stop...Japan! We
created our own actions, learned a new note (RE!), and played the melody
on the barred instruments. Take a look!
Students in our grade 1/2/3 classes have embarked on a journey around
the world! As an introduction to this unit, students watched the video
